Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne

About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering and manufacturing team. You’ll design and develop LV electrical systems, control panels. This role offers the chance to lead a small team of junior engineers and work on exciting, fast-paced projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor junior engineers and apprentices.
- Design LV electrical systems
- Produce schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation using EPLAN Electric P8 and Pro Panel.
- Select components and materials balancing efficiency, reliability, and cost.
- Work with mechanical engineers and project managers to integrate electrical systems.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and support procurement.
- Provide technical support to the production team and resolve design issues.
- Maintain clear design documentation and stay updated on industry developments.
Skills & Experience:
- HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- EPLAN proficiency – essential.
- 5+ years’ electrical design experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in panel design/manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of LV power systems and relevant standards (IEEE, IEC, BS EN 61349).
