Instrumentation Electrician
Location: Sunderland
Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 DOE + bonus
Hours: Monday to Friday 07.30 – 16.00
An established business is seeking a qualified Electrician to support plant operations and maintenance within a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.
The Role
You’ll provide electrical, control, and instrumentation support to ensure plant reliability, efficiency, and compliance with strict safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on instrumentation, analysers, and control valves
- Fault-find and troubleshoot electrical and control systems
- Calibrate and maintain instrumentation equipment
- Install and commission new electrical and instrumentation assets
- Interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Ensure all work is completed in line with site safety procedures and legislation

- Safety-critical and potentially hazardous areas
- Requires a strong safety-first mindset
What You’ll Need
- NVQ Level 3 or HNC in Electrical / Instrumentation (or equivalent)
- 18th Edition certification
- Proven EC&I experience within an industrial or process environment
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability
- Comfortable with shift work and on-call rota
