I am excited to be recruiting for my client based in Skipton, North Yorkshire who are a leading global manufacturer. They now have a vacancy for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team. The successful Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will work as part of a team and will support operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and improving the reliability of all mechanical equipment across the department.

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities:
- Lead in all departmental maintenance tasks and support Engineering with their PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) where applicable.
- Ensure minimal unscheduled downtime through fast and effective response to breakdowns, monitor the performance of the line post breakdown to ensure it is fully operational.
- Respond to breakdowns in a timely manner, diagnose faults, define remedial action and implement.
- Delivery of improvements to ensure reliability of equipment and to improve asset performance.
- Assist the team in order to pack product to high quality standards and maintain quality standards.
- Proactively reviewing machinery and equipment for defects, safety concerns or suitability.
- Resolve any issues in the first instance and escalate if it cannot be resolved.
- Provide and deliver solutions to problems.
Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Requirements:
- Candidate must hold a relevant recognised engineering qualification in mechanical engineering to a level of NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
- Excellent fault finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams.

- Monday to Friday – 36 hours per week 6am – 2pm/2.15pm – 10.15pm with a day off every 5th Friday.
