Manager (125cm) - Blackwood, South Wales - £42,000 - £45,000 per annum
Overview
Our
client is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee Maintenance,
Repair and Overhaul (MRO) activities within a specialist aviation environment.
This
is a leadership role responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering
production outputs across multiple work centres. The successful candidate will
ensure operational efficiency, maintain high quality and safety standards, and
lead teams to achieve delivery targets.
This
position is well suited to ex-military personnel with experience in
engineering, logistics, operations, or maintenance environments, particularly
those accustomed to structured processes, leadership responsibility, and
performance-driven delivery.
Key
Responsibilities:
Operational
Performance
-
Plan and coordinate production activities to meet delivery deadlines and
operational targets.

Develop and manage detailed production schedules across multiple work centres.

Monitor output, identify efficiencies, and implement improvements to reduce
waste and control costs.

Resolve operational issues quickly to maintain continuity of production.

Track performance metrics and provide regular reports to senior management.

Identify risks and proactively manage critical paths to ensure on-time
delivery.
Compliance
& Quality

Ensure all work meets required quality standards and technical specifications.

Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Review and enforce policies and procedures to ensure consistency and adherence
to legislation.

& Team Management

Lead and manage production teams, including shift planning and task allocation.

Drive performance through effective leadership, coaching, and development of
staff.

Skills
& Experience

Proven experience in leadership and team management within an operational
environment.

Strong planning, coordination, and scheduling capability.

Experience using IT systems, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Ability to analyse performance data and communicate findings effectively.

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate under pressure.

Experience managing multiple priorities while maintaining safety and quality
standards.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution
skills.

Professional, structured, and proactive approach to work.
This
role would suit candidates with backgrounds such as:

Engineering or technical trades (REME, RAF Engineering, Naval Engineering)
