If you’re an ex military engineer, I have a fantastic opportunity to work for a company who values your skills and employs many ex military engineers across their UK sites. Our client is currently recruiting for a Site lead Engineer at their brand-new site in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.
The successful Site Lead Engineer will initially be responsible for establishing the new site, ensuring all machinery and departments are fully operational for the scheduled opening in 2024. This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates with an electrical engineering bias who are leaving their military engineering career and are looking to join a company who are market leaders in their industry.
Site Lead Engineer Responsibilities:
- Responsible for setting up a brand-new site including stores department, engineering workshop and offices on customer site.
- Ensure customer management is fully informed of maintenance and repairs on site.
- Provide high standards of equipment reliability and technical systems availability.
- Electrical and mechanical fault finding, repairs and PPM.
- Responsible for spare parts levels, including usage, inventory levels, ordering and replenishment and receipts.
Site Lead Engineer Requirements:
- Must have completed a recognised apprenticeship program and hold an Electrical qualification to level 3 as a minimum.
- Experience working on single and 3 phase systems.
- Have strong electrical fault finding and diagnostic experience.
- Previous PLC fault finding experience.
- Hold mechanical skills, working with drives, gears, hydraulics, motors and compressed air systems.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical engineering diagrams, schematics and assembly drawings.
- Understanding of WMS or WCS systems would be beneficial.
- Proven experience setting up a new stores department or engineering workshop would be highly beneficial.

Site Lead Engineer Benefits:
- Salary is £49,000 including shift allowance.
- 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday - 6am – 2pm/ 2pm – 10pm weekly rotation.
